I love watching the Golden Globe. More so for the red carpet fashion. I love seeing the stars in their most fashionable, glamorous and endearing dresses. I also love seeing the movies and stars that I love win. Yesterday was no exception. It was shocking but super sweet when one of my favorite celebrity of all thing Taraji P Henson was called as the winner of the prestigious Golden Globe awards for her role as Cookie in the breakout TV series Empire. I was literally in shock. I was in shock because it was a longtime coming for her. I was in shock because the category she won- was a strong one.
I want you to know something. I have always assumed that I know Cookie Lions as she is popularly called. The movie Benjamin Button was one of the movie I saw when I moved to United State. In the movie I saw Taraji P Henson for the first time, and fell in love with her and the other actors like Brad Pitt. The movie was something new and different for me. It was a movie that left an impact on me. Another movie that did the same to me was Avatar. Ok now. Let's go to Cookie. When they called her name, I think I passed out for few seconds and back to life. Lol!
I was very happy and surprise. I thought to myself. You deserve it girl. Not that other stars didn't. Just that I love this woman from the movie "I can do bad all by myself". I was very happy for her. I was very happy for the winners. Even some that I didn't know. Cookie even made my day when she told the Hollywood foreign press to give her more time to speak. According to her, she waited 20yrs for the award. Well, I will do the same too if I was her. It was her moment to shine and she sure did. I enjoyed my Sunday even more because it was our anointing service Sunday and I myself was blessed. There you have it. That's my Sunday and it was less heart wrecking than Saturday. Hahahahaha! Love yeah.....
